Why Humbl. Thyself?

Greetings from the Humbl team...

Welcome to our blog and thanks again to everyone for joining us!

Praying all is well with you and your family.

At the time of writing this, we understand the whole world is being affected by the current pandemic. It is an unprecedented time for many of us and now more than ever, we all need to solidify our relationship with God. For those that have no relationship with God, it is time to open your hearts to the truth.

Jesus Christ warned us of events to come, and we would do well to take heed to all of Gods Word.

Inspired by the scripture,

2 Chronicles 7:12-14

12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.

13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

We find God telling Solomon, that if He stopped it from raining, sent locusts to eat up everything or sent pestilences (which are plagues), that Gods people, that He called by His name, would be able to call on Him for a solution to these problems.

The first thing Gods says is, if His people called by His name would humble themselves. Then pray, seek His face and turn from their wicked ways.

Looking through the Bible, we find multiple examples of God having mercy on places and people when they turned to Him in sincerity and humility. There are also examples of those who refused to listen and take Gods counsel.

Being humble does not mean being timid, fearful and shy. Instead it is the accurate perception of your own importance. Not exalting yourself, but understanding your identity from the perpective of God. Being truly humble allows Gods infinite strength strength to flow, as it means you submit to God and allow Him to work through your weaknesses. To be humble is the opposite of being prideful. To be humble is to be low before God. Not meaning lying down on the floor, though you can, if you choose to pray like that. Rather meaning, that we truly consider God more important than us. His words, views, commands, and judgments are all more important than our own opinions.

His words are true, valid, infinite, whereas our own are subjective, biased and limited. We literally have such a blessing to be able to communicate with the One who knows all there is to know about everything. We would be foolish not to listen and do what God says we should. Since we as humans have a tendency to rely on ourselves we need constant practice and reminding in the Word of God.

So for us, HUMBL. THYSELF is a message to remind ourselves everyday, that we should do that very thing. Humble ourselves before God, with our actions showing what we say we believe. We should seek Him daily and desire to know Him more. The benefits of knowing God and being pleasing to Him are truly incomparable.

Our aim is to be fruitful in Christ Jesus and to inspire you, in your journey to do so. So join the HUMBL Family, as we aim to encourage people of all ages, nations and tongues of the importance of drawing closer to God.

Much Love,

Humbl. Team
